The show
Behind an unmarked door and up the last flight of stairs, a private club opens for the night. The hosts are charming, the drinks are poured, and the evening is about to get out of hand.
The Upstairs Club is a circus-driven cabaret where the audience is part of the party. Dancers work the room, a voice fills it, and an acrobat hangs upside down above your table. A respectable evening slides into chaos: a priest, a baptism, an exorcism, and a guest pulled on stage who never saw it coming.
The show opened in Melbourne on 1 May 2026 under the title Society, to strong reviews, and is now in the middle of a successful year-long run. The Upstairs Club is its international version: the same secret club, with more circus. Its original directors are re-staging it with new acrobatic acts, for new rooms and new audiences.

Polished without being stiff, playful without being tacky and immersive without becoming uncomfortable.
My jaw literally hurt afterwards from how much I was smiling.
One minute you’re sipping a cocktail, the next someone’s hanging upside down above your table while the room erupts around you.
